Directional coupler is a general microwave/millimeter wave component, which can be used for signal isolation, separation and mixing, such as power monitoring, source output power stabilization, signal source isolation, transmission and reflection sweeping test.
The main technical indexes are directivity, standing wave ratio, coupling degree and insertion loss.
Directional coupler A microwave element used to distribute or synthesize microwave signal power and have directional coupling characteristics. It is composed of the proper coupling structure between the main and the two transmission lines (referred to as main and secondary lines). Directional coupler uses the same axis, strip line, Microstrip line, metal waveguide or dielectric waveguide and other types. The coupling structure has the coupling hole, the coupling branch line and the continuous structure coupling type.
